At Convict Cutters you can be rest assured that only quality stylists and apprentices attend to your hair.  We believe that education is our future at Convict Cutters and we spare no expense when it comes to educating our hairdressers.

We have a very detailed training program for our apprentices, being conducted in the salon every Monday.  Katrina Lockhart is our In Salon Trainer and provides the background and knowledge to give each staff member a firm footing into their training before the artistic training begins. Our staff are educated on all aspects of hairdressing. Working through a modular system to make sure each individual is receiving excellent training. This system combined with Goldwell colour and technical support gives a firm understanding of the industry.

Every Tuesday night Robert and Georgina not only do training with the apprentices but with all staff members to design a more artistic approach to cutting hair. Creative training with the client’s personal needs in mind is very important, right from the moment the client walks into the salon.

In our training sessions we cover our very own cutting technique called saluping. This is a technique developed by Robert and has been  taught throughout Australia in every major city in conjunction with Goldwell.  Robert and Georgina have both travelled Australia and demonstrated the various cutting and colouring techniques used in the salon and Robert has been fortunate enough to have educated for Goldwell for 12 years on a national level.  Georgina has also had the privilege to be the KMS ambassador for Tasmania educating other salons and Convicts on all things KMS.
