Convicts 30 years
Celebrating 30 years of Convict Cutters.
We’re so excited to share Convict Cutters’ 30th Birthday with our clients and friends. As we celebrate this milestone, we’ve taken a look back at what we’ve achieved over three decades. Opening our salon in 1991 amidst the recession, riding out the changing tides of the industry and the latest COVID challenges. And all of it possible thanks to you.
Our Vision was cemented at the beginning, and that was “To establish Convict Cutters in Australian hairdressing and to build a great reputation for quality service and innovation”. We’re so proud to have done this with you.
To maintain our Vision, we have this motto, ‘Train, educate, repeat’. We put a lot of time into our apprentices’ education, their talent is endless and together with my business partner Georgina (who incidentally started out at Convict Cutters as an apprentice 21 years ago) are especially focused on training up our young staff members, getting them ready to be the next wave of Senior Stylists here at Convict Cutters.
We’re humbled to have won multiple awards throughout our journey. Being placed in the top 10 of the Australian Hair Expo Awards for Hairdresser of the Year, twice, was a significant highlight and such a huge honour. I was also named Tasmanian Hairdresser of the Year at the Australian Hair Fashion Awards, and the Convict Cutters Stylist Team won Salon Team of the Year at the International Hair Stylists Society Australia Awards. These were all such exciting accolades for us, particularly the team awards – they hold a special meaning and have helped pave the path to our success today.
Georgina and I are so grateful for the love and support you’ve shown us over the last 30 years at Convict Cutters. Bring on the next decade of cuts, styling, color and creativity. Together we’re an unstoppable force!
